Pad Pins?

I need a little help............yes again

Will some kind person please post what size socket I need to buy to remove the pad pins on the 4 pot calipers. While I have the front wheel off I'm changing the pads to better EBC HH pads, hopefully with the new braided lines and new 90/90 tyre I can get a little better brakeing. But the pad pins are such little buggers I dont have a multi point bit that fits. I'm hopeing to get it all back together by the weekend just in case the sun continues, so any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Paul

Re: Pad Pins?

A normal 1/4" size 12 point socket.
Try and get a thin wall one, a thick chubby one might not reach in.

Bleed nipples are 3/8", try and use a 6 point spanner if they're tight, they can round off easily.

Wrong size in the pic, but you get the drift.

edit= I had better add the banjo bolts are 3/8" size, normal 12 point socket.

Re: Pad Pins?

Question along similar vain,

about brake pad pins, not the nose business.

Front brakes on Softail, went to change pads, WTF is that pad pin head, got my AF 12 point spanners out and nothing fitted.

Got the caliper off with a 12 point 10mm, thought the pins were a 7mm, oooohhhh how wrong I was, now one of the pin heads is a little more round than it was.

What do you get them off with?

The smilies show the progression of my emotions through this rollercoaster 10 minutes.
