| Re: Ez clutchlite Problem is with the ezee clutch thingy, it reduces the travel of your pushrod thereby inducing slight drag even when you have the clutch lever fully retracted, which in turn makes for clunky gear shifting and engaging neutral with the engine running, a near impossibilty. I have this problem which is also compounded by fat handlebar grips which reduces your lever travel, [More drag] and also a braided clutch cable, the ends of which are notorius for compressing, which again reduces the pushrod travel which = more clutch drag when trying to shift gear. Just fit a "Hippo" centrepedal clutch and dump the ezee clutch thingy as none of the above will be relevant afterwards. Trouble is, the centrepedal clutch costs alot more than the White bros thing. I bet i`m the only one who has all of the above drag problems!

| Re: Ez clutchlite Umm, are we talking about the gadget that fits inside the gear case cover, or the handlebar/ clutch lever attachment [little black box] ?? If it`s the latter, then please ignore my above posting!!

A good addition, but half the leverage is half the movement. The new light clutch from HD is excellent, costs about the same, easy to install.

You're all in the stone age. More expensive, but a VPC is the way to go. ;) |

VPC's are available for all Evo and TC big twins and most XLs. Got one fitted on my 2002 FXDL and it makes a world of difference, light clutch, no drag, no slip. Smiles better than the Ezy clutch thingy. Check out the next Harleyquinn for a dealer selling them. Where did I get mine? I'm not allowed to say, as that would be advertising, but see if you can work it out..... update see...Suppliers giving a discount on this site.

First time I heard of any problems with the White Brothers Clutch gizmo. Live and learn I guess. Speaking for myself , it's worked perfectly, no problems with drag and I get neutral easy enough too. It's difficult to beat at the price of 10-15 quid. Mind you, I wouldnt mind that VPC thingy but I seem to remember that it costs hundreds of pounds and fitting is a bit more involved. Still might go that way eventually though. The Harley one I wouldnt buy on principle! Seems to me by making a clutch that Arnold himself has problems pulling and then trying to sell us this years after White Brothers came out with the solution is just taking the piss. |
