Dynojet Accuracy

I just had my 05 Lowrider (injected) on the Dyno to check the HP & TQ. I was a little surprised at the "high" numbers. Can anybody tell me if I should believe it has a max of 88.73HP & 90.42Ft Lbs torque .

Considering the bike only has the SE intake, SE slip-ons and stage 1 ECM upgrade, I would think these numbers would be a little high .

Any comments ??

Peter.

Re: Dynojet Accuracy

sounds over by quite a bit M8

Figures straight from the screamin'eagle race catalogue are;

Standard 1450 twin cam 88; 58HP and 70 lb/ft

1450 stage 1 twin cam 88; 71 HP and 80 lb/ft

Re: Dynojet Accuracy

Sounds a bit OTT.

even S&S with theri 95cube conversion, high compression pistons, lumpy cams, performance carb give the following figures:

89 hp and 95 lbs

are you sure you are talking about power at the rear wheel or power at the fly wheel, if those figures are at the fly wheel, knock 25% off and it will give a more realistic figure. however if it is a softail with counter balance shaft thingummies, they apparently sap a bit of the engines power as well.

Harley Hog should be able to give you a more definitive answer

Re: Dynojet Accuracy

Far too high IMO, there are people spending reasonable money to get figures like that.

Where did you have it done, was it a Dynotune dyno or some other, are they familiar with Harley's?

Re: Dynojet Accuracy

Those are high numbers, as the other posters say people pay good money for results like that.
I would very much doubt them.
We have a dyno at the shop used every day, that is more like a 95 with cams.

Re: Dynojet Accuracy

Thanks guys, thats what I thought. The machine was quite a new Dynojet unit with a roller that the bike runs on so the numbers are taken at the rear wheel.

I am in Singapore and we only have about 3 dyno's in town so I think the experience of these guys is limited. This one specialize in tuning sport bikes but say they have fitted around 7 power commanders to HD's so far. I am thinking of buying a PC from them as they are the only ones here that do it and I think its best to use the Dyno to set up the PC.

We have constant 30C temperature and very high humidity all year. (enjoy your upcoming winter guys). Will this have a positive or negative effect on engine performance. They claim I cant use any of the standard PC maps due to this also.

Thanks fot the info. I thought I got thet HP cheap.

Peter.
