| '06 Dyna Pipes
I'm soon to take delivery of an '06 dyna, and was hoping to fit some screaming eagle mufflers to it - make it sound like a "proper" Harley! My dealer tells me that these are no longer available, due to Harley's need to comply with forthcoming US noise regulations. I looked at Zodiacs but they're far too thin for my liking, and I'm not keen on the V&H range of "shots". I'm after a look that's as similar to the standard pipes as possible, but with a decent, but not over-the-top sound. Any one got any ideas? Thanks. |

Are the 06 Dyna's not a semi-closed loop EFI? Meaning that any pipe changes would be rather difficult as the ECM takes readings of an oxygen sensor in the head-pipes to maintain (ah'hem) correct AFR, correct for the treehuggers that is. Last edited by harleyhog; 11-04-2006 at 08:17 PM. |

V&H are releasing a set of mufflers for the Dynas etc., should be on the market soon. Seeing as they made the original SE mufflers they should fit the bill nicely.

Screaming eagle mufflers are the same for the 06 as the 05, the HEADER pipes are different, with oxygen sensors. We have fitted umpteen sets. V&H have a couple of sets of complete pipes for the 06 drilled & tapped for sensors. We use SE mufflers, the hi-flow a/c & a straight download for the stage one 1550, it works very well. As a matter of fact I have been riding an 06 recently, & it ran very well. If your dealer is worried about doing it have them call me

Phil In my eperience of O2 sensors used in other applications they normally have a limited life (usually up to 2 years). Is this the case with the Dynas? Whats the service life and more importantly the cost involved in replacing them? |
