How do I fit this washer? correctly

I had one fitted at the dealers about five years ago, took two of them to do it.
One pushing on something, the other fitting the bits.

I believe generally master cylinder etc. repair kits have slightly over sized seals to compensate for wear over the original fitment, so are often right bastards to fit.

I had a lot of trouble with an Evo one and as Panster said it was all very tight and hard to fit but once done worked fine.

Thanks for the advise boys. I'll have a play later when I have some time to bleed the brakes again & see how it goes.
