2001 Dyna Swinging Arm Removal

Is there a trick to removing the swinging arm bolt on the 01 Dyna's
It has to be pushed out from the primary side but the position of the primary makes this tricky.
Any ideas ?
Help appreciated

Any chance of pulling it from the other side? Failing that loosen off the rubber mounts and "lift" the motor out of the way a bit.
Just a thought.

Re: 2001 Dyna Swinging Arm Removal

Biggest problem I had with mine was getting the nut off , used a ring spanner but it's hard to get the leverage because of the position and it's fekin tight.
Once you have that off, jack it up, wheel out, loosen shocks and the spindle slides out no problem, from the exhaust side once that has been removed. Grease was as good as new after 10K, mind you the bike was only a year old at that point. Harley wheelbearing grease(green stuff) is the business.
Good Luck
