03 -04 dyna fxd spec

Help please: does anyone know if there is any difference between the 03 and 04 frame, specfically the head stock-triple tree set up. I think it is probably the same , have seen a wide glide kit for sale that is labeled for 04/05 bike and don't want to risk it if it aint gonna fit.
Cheers, Patrick

I understand that the '04 and '05 Dynas are bastards, as they changed the tanks and frames on the Dyna line in '04 and then for '06 they changed the frame again. This suggests that there may be significant differences!

Is it a H-D kit, i.e. has it got a part number?

Cheers for the replies. It's a custom chrome kit for 39mm forks, looks the same as the one listed in my 03/4 catalogue , just need to know if the frame was changed, mate of mine has on 04 and it looks pretty much the same , know they have moved the ignition on the 06 and changed the frame to accommodate the 6 speed box. This is the link , if it works

Re: 03 -04 dyna fxd spec

I was told by a Harley tech rep that the 04 Dayna was a complete new frame but both my screen and the engine-crash bars swapped from
my 1993 Dyna with no alterations at all.

The 03 & 04 Dyna frames have different part numbers, as they have a few subtle differences, for your purposes it should work.
I would not even use anything from CCI as wall art, but there you go.
Get a used Harley one off e-bay.

Re: 03 -04 dyna fxd spec

Thanks for that Phild, knew you would have the answer .
Still not sure about it though as will probably have to get new headlight and not sure if I can be bothered,or afford it, and there is the quality issue. Might use the old one as wall if I do though it is pretty pitted from the lovely salt on our roads, that's harley quality for you, probably comes from the same factory ast the CCI one -
Thanks again.

I'm sure the stem/headstock dimensions will be the same but don't know about the fork stops!
