| Primary Chaincase drain plug
In the Clymer manual it states 'tighten securely' but no torque figure given. Anyone any idea what torque it should be? Cheers |

ask its a lot quicker if you tape the threaded portion with ptfe tape and tighten it up using a standard allen key. then just a gentle nip will be enough, dont swing on it with a length of steam pipe;) I say that because obviously the amount of torque you apply is dictated by the length of the lever. ie if you use a 1/2" wrench and hex bit you apply torque without realising it an allen key is nice and short. |

I put a twirl or two of the tape on , then insert the long shaft of the allen key and tighten it with my fingers using the short end as a lever. Done it like this for 3 years now and never had a leak there and no worries about cracking the case.
