The fact that it clicks when the starter is pushed is important, as the main circuit breaker provides power to the starter switch circuit. If the breaker had tripped there would be no power to the start button.

I cleaned all the earth & live connections & bolted them back up. cleaned every plug in connecter I could find & fitted a new battery & it started up first press of the button.

Lets see if that works after a long ride.

.....if you are still having problems then.....

disconnect your battery again and pull hard on the leads.....you may have a cracked lead...probably the positive.
Have you load tested the battery

The FXDX is mine & like Mrs Helmetbolt is 1550 with the works. The Street Bob is a company bike. I actually prefer riding the Bob, the 6 speed is sweet & the closed loop injection is a huge improvement. The wife will love it.
