| Exhuast Stud
Dyna has now done around 30k so I thought that I would take of the cam cover and look at the cam chain tensioners. Failed at the first hurdle despite loads of heat I was unable to undo the nuts holding the pipes on the studs in the head without risking the disaster of a broken stud. Would I have a better chance using a impact driver or is this just as likely to break a stud? thanks pete

Sorry to hear that LOGO, BUT from your description "despite LOADS of heat" Me thinks you may have caused the problem in the first place ![]() TOO much heat will expand BOTH stud & nut which will then cause it to just shear at it's weakest point ie, where the stud enters the head. Patience is a virtue, so next time keep soaking the ferkers over a 24hr period or don't get so hot headed with the heat, remember it's the nut that only needs expanding. Hope you get it sorted soon.
