Street Bob Exhausts

Hi everyone - am looking to pick your brains here.
I am after some different exhausts on my 2007 Bob. I have been told by one main dealer that I don't need to stage 1 it fully, I can just fit new end cans and keep the down pipes standard. Any pipes from the range that fit will do ( apparently ).
Another dealer has told me that isnt true and I have to have a full stage 1 instead ( £750 ish with the cheapest pipes ).
The bike is just coming up to 800 miles so I don't wish to mis-match my pipes and I am happy with the performance as is but it doesn't sound right after my last Harleys ( Far too peaceful - can't hear it! ) and being a tight watsit not really wanting to find the £750 for a main dealer.
Any advice is appreciated.
Cheers!
Sorry - just noticed the other question along these lines further down!

Re: Street Bob Exhausts

You can fit new mufflers ONLY as long as they are the street legal, or close. ANYTHING higher flowing (louder) will need to have the fueling attended to in one way or another.

Re: Street Bob Exhausts

Bit like yourself I wanted to get something for the noise factor without going stage 1, I got a set of Street bob pipes off ebay and paired up the bigger bore muffler from the bob with the one on my bike...OK its doesnt sound like SE or V&H but for the £26 I payed for the pipes its a lot louder...

Re: Street Bob Exhausts

My 07 runs fine with SE mufflers and no other mods.Didn't want anything too loud as it does my head in touring through Europe but being a bit mutton couldn't hear the oe setup. Have to get the SE's from USA but then they're half-price anyway

Re: Street Bob Exhausts

Good article in this month's BSH about Stage 1 options for TC96.
Have a gleg at your local Tescos or push the boat out and buy it...
