Indicators.

I don't know whether anyone has had this problem, but I am hoping someone may know the answer.
The indicators on My '96 Glide have stopped working.
I have checked all the wires going into the module plug and they're doing what they are supposed to do, earth, live, and buttons etc etc.

Anyone got any other thoughts before I have to go and buy a new module

Re: Indicators.

Thanks Dave, I'll look into the relay but I have not heard any clicking. Wile I have been 'fiddling' I have had the things going, and when I turn them off, and try again, they stop working again.

Really strange one this

Re: Indicators.

Hi, i had a similar problem with the indicators on my 1990 FLHS, it turned out to be a diode that was installed when the alarm was fitted (before i bought it).
I checked the voltages on the module and was getting what looked like the correct figures but the diode was dropping some and making it not work correctly. I don't want to say any more as it goes into the dodgy area of security. Got the problem sorted though.
Hope this helps you out some.

Re: Indicators.

When the ignition is on there should be 12volts at both of the connections on the flasher relay........if that helps.

A bad earth can also cause problems but i doubt that this is your problem

Re: Indicators.

Had an intermittent fault on my indicators on my flstf. Would work now and again. Found a wire just under the tank by the headstock that had not fully broken, hence intermittent and working at higher revs. Might not be applicable to you but worth a look.
Saved me buying a new module.

Daft as this may sound, I had a similar problem a while back on a 1991 FLHS after I stripped it down. Indicator would come on but would not flash, turned out to be a connection in the main handlebar switch. I'd tightened it up and disturbed something, slackened it off checked for any trapped wires then retightened carefully and all was OK. As I said it was a weird one but a cheap fix!!
