tech help reg air filter.

just fitting the teardrop air cleaner , my question is regarding the 2 oilway bolts that mount the filter backing plate in place , well there are 4 plastic type washers that sit on these bolts and mine have disintigrated to virtually nothing, can i use anything else ie copper or fibre washers? i take it oil will piss out if i dont use any sealing washers?

Copper or fibre. Use some high temp sealant also.
