Wiring Clips

Can anyone please advise.

I have a replacement read mudguard for my 96 fatboy, but its off a 97 Heratige. I know it fits cos i have tried it on. Question i have is regarding the clips which hold the wiring under the mudguard.

On the 96 Fatboy fender they are just metal tabs which bend. On the 97 Heratige there are small metal studs (bit like a wire nail with a head on) welded to the inside of the mudguard. The dealer tells me they are for plastic clips which are over £2 each . Can anyone tell me if i can get them or what they look like or are called, or is there a suitable alternative than spending £30-£40 on fancy cable ties

Thanks

Re: Wiring Clips

According to my Parts Book for a FXST, there are 3 Different Clips for the rear Fender/Tail Lamp:

1: Clip Double...Part No: 10113.
2: Clip T Stud...Part No: 10183.
3: Clip T Stud...Part No: 10184.
I would guess that you will need Part No: 10183 as it shows 7 needed for the Fender but only 1 each for the other 2 types.
These clips are found on all Softails except the Springer and Deuce. Bear in mind that I have a TC88 so there might be differences.
If you check these Part Numbers out at the Stealership they will be able to show you pics. from the Parts Book (Year 2000 Softail).

Re: Wiring Clips

Last time I looked these clips, part number 10183 were about 62p each from all good Independants. Now all you got to do is find one that sells them and the problem has gone away!

Sometimes you just have to open your wallet, lie back and think of Milwaukee! Your Harley dealer will be only too pleased to oblige and supply them....
