| thunderheader vs VH pro-pipe
Gonna splash the cash on some new zorsts for me 03 carbed heritage. Narrowed it down to these two. I like a nice deep rumble when I wind it on, but nothing to obtrusive when burblin through town, want good chrome thats durable , and hopefully a few more HP as well. Anybody running either of these ? Anygood? Thoughts appreciated Ta very muchly. |

If you want "unobtrusive" then forget the Thunderheader. Been there, done that. Its very loud and gets even louder when you open it up. |

Ah, now you`re talking. I love the sound of the Thunderheader & it works quite well with an engine that moves a lot of air. I had one on my Dyna until six months or so ago, & it has a big engine. In fact a couple of other Riders Club members rode it. Like I said six months ago I swapped it for a Pro Pipe. A vast improvement. A huge increase in mid range torque, while keeping the higher end HP. The Pro Pipe comes with all the heat shields & necessary hardware (which the Thunderheader doesn`t) & (over here at least) is a couple of hundred dollars cheaper. The Pro Pipe is distributed & made by a well known & reputable company. The Thunderheader is distributed & made by a well known California motorcycle club. You can draw your own conclusions about customer service.

The deed is done, shopped around for a V&H pro-pipe, all around the £400 mark with postage. Got lucky and landed a perfick 2nd hand one off E-bay , bloke fitted it hardly used it then sold the bike but took the zorsts off to sell seperatly . Result at £150. Trouble is ,bloke won't post it so got to drive to kent to pick it up, but can combine it with visiting a mate in maidstone nick over xmas.
