| Re: primary oil leak
Mine has leaked from the same place as yours for a couple of years now. I used to get a bit concerned because eventually it mounts up to the point where it gets thrown back over the belt and the left side of the back tire. Fixing it seemed way too involved with my level of skill/tools. What I did was move over to Red Line Shockproof heavy in the tranny. This stuff is such thick goop that it reduced the leak down to virtually nothing and it never gets to the back tire now. Worked for me and is an easy cheap fix to try.

Hi bingodakota Mine seems to be on the primary side I use redline shockproof in the tranny already so if that starts leaking as well It should be alright. THanks Nigel |

oh well, in that case, I dont have anything else to suggest except maybe keeping the primary oil level very low - might work... Good luck! |

| Re: primary oil leak
Hi Nigel, My 2002 Road King started showing some oil dripping from the bottom tubes, check the end case of the gearbox, the big allen bolts, three of mine were loose!! tightened them up topped up the oil in the gearbox now all is fine! generally, if the oil is very clean it's gearbox, slightly dirty to clean it's primary case & if it's dirty it will be engine, (unless you have just changed all your oils!!) I have just changed all my oils to fully synthetic stuff, much better now. Hope this may help Cheers Geoff ps, contact me regarding Denmark rally 2008 |
