Question MPG and Stage 1

Does a Stage 1 have a detrimental effect on MPG over a stock set up ?

The reason I ask is because I have changed the exhaust (but not the Air filter awaiting PCIII) and went for a little ride approx 50 miles. I do need to check it again but it now appears to drink the petrol.

I siphoned it out whilst you had a pint.

my mpg was about the same after stage 1 on my night train but at first i was reving the bike higher and not changeing up as fast as i was enjoying the noise so used a bit more petrol that way.

Re: MPG and Stage 1

Changing the pipes shouldn't make that much difference but I was the same on my Nightrain as db133 until I calmed down a bit. I would say though that you will need to make sure you've got the PCIII adjusted correctly, I use a V&H FulePack at the mo with some V&H shortshots and I just can't seem to get it to run right as it's always running rich and the mileage has gone down by about 20 - 30 mpg despite being careful with the wrist motion.Still, it's in the garage at the mo coz I'm doing the 1550 upgrade as soon as I get me gaskets and that'll defo have an impact on mpg coz I'll be going mad on it again for a while.
