Is my back wheel laquered?

Anbody know if the back wheel on an 07 FXSTC is laquered or just polished?

Mine has a few marks from the factory supplied balance weights that are proving v difficult to remove, if its just the glue i can shift it with a solvent but dont want to stuff the laquer, if it exists that is...

I've shifted the brake dust with a gentle bit of T Cutting, came up a treat and did feel and look like some sort of laquer however the cloth now smells like ally...

Confused....

Re: Is my back wheel laquered?

I do not think the FXSTC rear wheel is lacquered. If it is then it is crap stuff as the salt eat through mine dam quick last winter.

I use Alu Magic on mine because it is also a wax after I polished the pitting out with solvo autosol and an old bit of sctochbrite.

Does not look too bad now at least.

Don't think any of the ally wheels are lacquered.
I know my 08 Fatbob's aren't.

Re: Is my back wheel laquered?

Rub the shiny bits with some Solvol or similar on a cloth; if the cloth turns black, it's bare alloy, if it doesn't, it's laquered (or something that rhymes).
Cheers, Pete.
