FXDWG backrest/rack

Sorry, not exactly technical so perhaps the wrong place to be asking about sissy bars and such, but couldn't see a more obvious one to post in

I'm looking to add a passenger backrest, possibly with a combined small rack, for the dyna wide glide (02) I'm picking up next week. It doesn't really need to be quick release or anything, but if with a rack I'd prefer those that are combined with the backrest rather than sitting on the fender. I've done various searches on google and eBay, but it seems the wideglide and it's bobtail are a little harder to find backrests for. Can anyone please recommend a (preferably UK) supplier for aftermarket ones, or are the factory ones the only real (expensive) option?

cheers, and if there's a more appropriate forum to post in that I've completely missed please let me know

Hi,

Aftermarket stuff like sissy bars and pads are definitely available if you look around. Try the independent dealers listed in the Suppliers section here on this site or alternatively look at V-Twin Mania

Re: FXDWG backrest/rack

Wisconsin Motorcycle Dealer - Kutter Harley-Davidson / Buell Janesville, Wisconsin and Monroe, Wisconsin

try one of the US main dealers and at 2 bucks top the pound its a good place to buy.

Ali and V twin mania is a good guy hes helped me out a couple of times now always straight with you and fair prices.

The neatest Sissy bar rack i have seen is the factory one which consists of 2 sideplates that bolt in between the mudguard and mudguard support the sissy bar (in various sizes) and various pads but HD do a rack that bolts on to where the sissy bar bolts into the sideplates. ITs neat but pricey (as usual ) ask Ali about it at V Twin he may be able to get you one at a sensible price.

Re: FXDWG backrest/rack

nice find, thanks. I've mailed him asking what model it was fitted to, but depending on price it may be worth a go anyway even if I have to modify the mounting plates or something

many thanks
