I always play with the clutch lever on tight/slow maneuvers all because of the times H-D's can stall at tick over revs like pulling away from lights.

Does the bike ever cut out when you are riding at normal speed revs? If so you have more of a problem like the ones posted above.

If the bike cuts out at slow speed as in your case and no clutch pulled your back wheel is locked and your off.

Glad the cager was alert and your ok mate.
Thanks for that Baza - The bike only ever cuts out when shutting down at low speeds like killswitch has been switched off. The last time before I dropped it was in a straight line and I let out the clutch to like bump start and it fired up straight away with no more problems. I want to get it fixed but as I have said im no mechanic and taking it to a dealers without it happening on a regular occurance would not neccessarily show the fault up.

At that price I'd say the circuit breaker was worth a shot, disconnect battery first.

Check angle sensor bracket is not falling apart.

If it's the same as my Sporty and the bank angle sensor has caused the shutdown it has to be reset by switching the ignition off then back on. So if you have been able to bump without turning ignition off and on it it seems to rule the bank angle sensor out.

Thanks Dave
I think I will go down the cheaper circuit breaker line first mate

Re: Cutting Out

I had this problem a couple of years back with my bike. A new circuit breaker seemed to fix it.

Re: Cutting Out

Instead of buying new bits, why not bypass the suspect bits and see is that cures it?

Re: Cutting Out

As an aside to to the electrical information you are getting, dont forget that S&S carbs only have two fuel circuits rather than three. If the step between them is too big, then a stutter or hiccup can occur. This tends to happen around the 2500-2800rpm mark which is where they swap over.

It doesnt happen all the time, other factors such as throttle opening position, incline etc can effect it but it may be worth flushing out the carb and checking the jets are seated correctly
