Re: 99 FLHR Handling

Hi Dave,

Given the overall good condition and very low mileage, I would be less inclined to suspect a mounting. Has the rear tyre worn evenly i.e. is it still rounded in profile or has it flattened off? This can make a bike teeter in a turn as it rolls over the edge of the flat section.

My money is on steering head and / or tyres.

Never experienced a problem with Wheels - used them for 5 years and bought 2 bikes from them.

No he's good for it I can vouch for that, I've met Dave a few times and he can stick up for himself.

Re: 99 FLHR Handling

I think it went back for the wipe with an oily rag at 1000 miles but they never saw it again. It only had 3 1/2K miles on it,he just changed the oil each year.
Could have been worse, could have been Coburn & Hughs.

Glad you're pleased with yours Michael, see you in a field somewhere.

I'll be the one in the ditch.

Mentioning past dealers what happened to Motex? Personaly I always found them good to deal with but preferred the old garage near Bromyard. The mechanic was called Leon. I had a lot of respect for him. Bought new an 89FLHTC. Loved it.

Bought my old Sporty from them in 88. Loved it. It's at the back of the garage now though, waiting 'til I can source some engine parts. It took me 6 months to finish my 95" bulid on the FXSTBi so it'll probably take aniother year or two to get the psorty on the road
