2007 Road King Recall

Hi, This is probably somewhere on the site however, I have just discovered it elsewhere and thought it worthwhile bringing to the attention of owners who are not aware of this recall. I thought that the dealers would have responsibility to ensure recalls are made in a timeous fashion??????

Product Notice: 0903: PRD PGM:TORQUE SMOOTH CALIBRN
What to do next is go onto HD web site into the service area and plumb in your VIN No. and mileage. The site will do the rest.

Apologies if I am telling you something you already know however, I just stumbled onto it by accident, so if this assists only one it will be a help. Cheers.

ps: Does anyone know what the HD Protocol is for notifying owners?

Re: 2007 Road King Recall

the Protocol in the UK is

If you find out about a recall and have a problem or just want it done ring the stealership argue with them that this is a recall and something should have been done about it and if your lucky they will agree to do the rework under warranty (for which they get paid by HD, although not as much as they will sting you per hour for labour).

I hope this clarifies this for you

Re: 2007 Road King Recall

This is a simple 5 minute download from the Digitech. Most UK bikes had it done at the dealers before we even knew about it. Most dealers will also do it automatically when servicing.

Rumour is it was to soften up the low rev torque delivery to stop the hamfisted from twisting the trottle madly when lugging and causing their cranks to walk and screw up their oil pumps....

Cheers

Mike

They did until the bean counters got their hands on them in 2003 and celebrated the centenary by throwing out the taper roller primary-side main bearing
