Question How do you secure a Fat Bob?

Sorry for more silly questions. My present bike is parked on the drive and I have a ground anchor and an Almax security chain to immobilise it. With the solid cast wheels of the Fat Bob, I wouldn't be able to use my chain. So are there are any other attachments points? How do you secure your Harley?

Re: How do you secure a Fat Bob?

The wheels are'nt solid, there are holes that are "just" big enough to get my Xena chain through. It's a bit of a wiggle to get a few links through, but it's enough.

Don't know how big the links are compared to your Almax, and as I'm not at home at the moment, I can't measure them.

Hope this is of some helo.

Cheers

I would vote for using the nearside shock-absorber - that way you won't scratch your exhaust (or burn your hand, as I have done rather too often )

Re: How do you secure a Fat Bob?

The problem with securing through wheels or behind shocks (IMHO) is that both can easily be removed, either allowing the shock to release the chain or leaving the wheel chained to the anchor, whilst a hefty band of SOBs carry off your ride and bundle it into the back of a van.
I too use an Almax and an anchor and I carefully feed it through the front of the frame at the base of the downtubes.
A bit of a ball ache... yep!!!
But then, I like to make life as hard as possible for the theiving b#####ds!!!!

Re: How do you secure a Fat Bob?

.....I've a Fatboy and secure it with a chain around the frame and ground anchor and, if I'm feeling particularly paranoid, I'll put the disklock on and tether the wife to the seat with bungee cords and sellotape - although, to be truthful, that last bit is more a personal perversion than security measure.

Something that concerns me about doing that:
