Front disc specs FXDC, any clues ?

Hi Guys,

Bit of a stupid newbie type question really, I guess I could just wait and measure it myself. (ooer)
But.

I am due to pick up my new Superglide next weekend and I was just about to order a disc lock online.

I told the insurance company I will be using a Xena XN14 on the bike, but I'm not 100% sure it'll fit without actually measuring the holes in the disc.
The XN14 has a 14mm dia bolt that fits through the disk, but I can't find any specs online what the diameter of the drill holes in the Harley's discs are.

I don't suppose anyone here has a clue?

The only reason I'm slightly panicky and want to order one online sooner then later is because the local Hein Gericke, which is supposed to have them in stock, are not expecting any in for the next couple weeks. I don't really want to risk invalidating the insurance if the bike, god forbid, gets knicked at work next week.

Thanks
Chris

You could see if they list your model here:

Disc-Lock Alarms

I use a XN15 on my 99 FLHR,it has 14mm pin but the slot is deeper as the holes in my discs are a long way from the edge.

Got mine here, also Optimate £32.99 and a Lidsafe with combined post.

XENA XN15 Alarm Disc Lock,Honda,Suzuki,Kawasaki,BMW,NEW on eBay, also Electrical Security, Accessories, Motorcycle Parts Accessories, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 12-Aug-08 1442 BST)

That's great. Thanks.
I was on that site earlier but completely missed the option to put your bike model in. All the excitement of getting a HD must be playing tricks with my mind. LOL
It looks like they fit anyway

Cheers

Re: Front disc specs FXDC, any clues ?

Most Harleys get nicked because they are expensive, and easy to turn into parts or customs. The usual method is to suss out where they are parked regularly, turn up in a van, and take it away. A disc lock won't give you any protection against that. If you're serious about protecting it, you might want to think about getting a quality chain and lock set, and fasten it to a lamp-post or similar (and not one you can lift over like David Cameron...)
People who nick Harleys are often professional and come well equipped. They will remove a cheap chain and lock with ease, and in seconds.
I used these people; not cheap, but supposed to be good. They supplied a kit comprising a static chain (for home) a travel chain (that's sturdier than most home chains) a quality lock and a ground anchor. They gave a discount to HDRCGB members at the time, and the service was good.
Cheap security acts as a deterrent to casual thieves, but is no good against professionals. Even the best chains won't stop someone who is determined enough, but if you make it difficult, they are more likely to move on to the guy with the disc lock...
