Tyre Choice

Hi Folks

Looking for a bit assistance here, I have an Electraglide Ultra Classic and I need to change my tyres, I read an earlier posting from JR Harley about the Cobra and Venom tyres and note the replies from other members about what they have fitted.
As I will be doing a bit of touring and will be towing a trailer and wonder if someone has this experience and what tyres they used or indeed can anyone make any suggestions?

Thanks
Goose

Re: Tyre Choice

Did 650 miles this weekend mainly in Scotland. On Friday 220 miles were in constant heavy rain. It poured down. I couldn't believe how surefooted the latest Avons were on my Heritage. Best tyres I have had in forty years of riding; 20 of them on Harley's.

Re: Tyre Choice

Venoms on my Ultra, BIG improvment on the Dunlops.
I tow a Squire trailer and to be honest if you load it right you don`t know its there.
However I can`t comment on other tyre makes as I have only ridden the Glide on the two types.
Hope this helps.

Re: Tyre Choice

I do wonder why H.D keep fitting these Dunlops as standard?
Not many seem to have much liking for them?

Re: Tyre Choice

I've just fitted a Cobra to the rear of my 06 Dyna, and the difference is incredible - ditch the Dunlops!

Goose is asking about the best tyres for a Tourer.

Avons are much better than the stock Dunlops and if you are changing tyres you may as well have the best.

Re: Tyre Choice

Many thanks folks. However something cropped up at short notice so to use the bike i could only find Metzlers, still a massive difference to the Cont-Milestone fitted. Oh, one thing, on the rear the Milestone rubs against the tyre wall if the alignment isn’t right.

Cheers
