Removing the reflective coating on rear light set-up

I have fitted a pair of Kuryakyn Halogen Bullet Lights #2319 as replacements for my rear indicators and they are fitted with reflector type bulbs. This makes them VERY bright which may be a good thing in daylight but at night I am sure they are too bright for people behind.

Does anyone know how to remove the reflective coating on the rim of the bulb?

Dead right BaZa; first time I've seen someone effectively asking how they can go about not being seen by the numpties in cages

I understand where you are coming from but these are VERY VERY bright, imagine small diameter spot lights, but amber, shinning through your windscreen just below eye level.

I will test them by standing behind at car seat hight in the dark and make a judgement.

Colin why not take the lenses off and spray the insides of the lens with black tinting spray.

I did that with my front and rear indicator lens which was a lot cheaper than the blackened after market lens. Plus they don't get stone chipped as it is sprayed on the inside.

BLACK TAIL LIGHT TINTING SPRAY SMOKED REAR LENS TINT on eBay, also Other Exterior Styling, Exterior Styling, Car Tuning Styling, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 24-Oct-08 22:57:04 BST)

Thanks Baza.

Have found that the bulbs are standard 50mm Dichroic - MR16 Downlighter type and these are available in 20, 35, & 50watt. Waiting for a reply from Kuryakyn about what wattage they fit as standard, might be a simple lower rated bulb change. If not, Tinting Spray it is.

When it makes sure that twats see you, there's no such thing as too bright (or too loud, for that matter )

Got a reply from Kuryakyn, bulbs are 20w so I think I will just run as is.
