| Forkin progress ?
Just been flicking through an 09 Dyna factory manual -as you do, and my eye was drawn to the maintainance time frames, to see what advances in thought and technology ! Noted the gearbox oil now changed at 20,000miles etc. But was somewhat suprised to see the fork oil is to be changed at 30,000 miles ! WOW things must have really improved in the last ten years ! oil that does not get too dirty in all that time ! Fantastic, Well it sounds too good to be true----- well it is, when you read on you find that changing the fork oil is no simple exersise dealt with in the quick maintainance section, Oh no...... you have to take the wheel out brakes off, fork legs out ! yeh, fork legs out, ---Coz theres no oil drain plugs ! you have to undoo the top nuts and tip the legs upside down to drain the oil out ! How mad is that ? I must be missing something surely ? Please you Techies out there put me out of my missery and tell me the, high tech, leading edge , 21st century reason this is so ? Or did some numpty forget to spec a drain plug.

This is so you won't want to do it..and take it to the dealer for him to do it ..perhaps..
