Bike wont start again

As anyone who was at the tail ender at Tann Hill will know my bike would not start . Anyway back to the shop and they said its fixed it was the map sensor could someone explain what it dos. And how it effects the bike not starting in the cold . Ive traweled the net and read so much iam confused and yes i know that dont take alot !! Any help i would be gratefull

To put it simply........The MAP sensor tells the ECU (computer) how much air is being pulled into the motor so it can adjust the amount of fuel to inject to get the correct mixture for combustion.
Its a little more complicated than that but thats basically it.

Cheers for that so do you think coz the air is cold and the MAP sensor is fualty its not putting anough feul into the bike ? To start it ?

Do you mean the shop said it's fixed but it still won't start from cold? If so, you need to take it back (if you can start it!) 'cos it ain't fixed! Or do you mean it's OK but you don't know what the problem was? With FI you might be looking at a temp sensor, but that about exhausts my ideas regarding anything that doesn't run on one carb and a set of points....

NO i havnt got the bike bike back they have said it was the MAP sensor cheers mate
