Obviously touring ebay, the V&H fuel pak is available for around £170 from USA, and £300 here.

HELP?
i might be wrong but isn't the usa one not suitable for european models? i'm sure i remember something like that when i was looking for one.

when i did mine i chose the fuel-pak as i fitted vance and hines pipes and thought it would be better to use the same manufacturer for both. the fitting was a doddle and (touch wood) never had any problems.with it.

personally i think there's an awful lot of snobbery with these fuel altery type thingy gizmo's.

ps, just had a quick look and i got mine for just less than £200 from a main dealer

Different dealers recommend different products, what you need to be clear on is the effect of fitting a fuel pack (regardless of make) and the validity of the warranty, if you look the big waranty notice on display in the shops it is made very clear that harley will cover harley products, but other products might not be covered - it is down to the shop.

The harley one is the only one recognised by the digitech system, the others are not, so it can take longer for the system to diagnose problem. It, along with the others, would be suitable for a stage 1 setup.

The race tuner system allows you to remap the bike as and when you change pipes, filters, cams etc or want an more sporty / economical setup.

They all effectively do the same thing - make the bike run richer. As for which pack is the best, different people swear by different product and as many again swear at the same products.

US bikes run a different operating system to the international models.

Although it is possible to run the bike without a fuel pack or the like, should anything go wrong as a result of not fitting one, V&H or the dealer / independent supplier are unlikely to view it as covered by warranty. Again, should you puchase a pack from the states via ebay and something goes wrong with it, it is unlikely that you would have any warranty cover.

The dealers and independent suppliers will only warranty what they supply or the work they carry out.

Re: Fuel Pack's

Good point Monster, and thanks for the detailed reply.

I'll have to bite the bullet, and get one from over here methinks.

As for fuellers being differently set up for the US, I find that comment rather puzzling, as - for example - , V&H state in the brochure that their fuelpaks are for off road use anyway, and certainly not legal in Californeyeay. Therefore why would they produce a different - not legal - one for the US market, as well as a not legal - one for the UK? -
just wondering like!

Re: Fuel Pack's

any changes from the standard vehicle are marked as such due to emissions regs and the like - basically they are saying if you done for emissions or noise while riding on the road then it's your problem.

If you really bite the bullet the race tuner is the way to go as that gives you far more sophisticated tuning capabilities than a fuel pack, but they are more expensive.

Re: Fuel Pack's

I have the PC111 fitted on a 04 Dyna, stage 1 and SE exhausts which used to fart, pop and run hot. It now runs extremely well and much cooler, Dynomax of Lincoln fitted and set it up on the Dyno for £324 complete.
