Re: Numptie question

Adjust the rear shocks up a notch if you have any adjustment left to make em stiffer.

How much movement is correct?.
thats bad, surely someone should check those sort of things before a courtesy bike goes out, after a accident the last thing you need is to have a bad handling bike due to something as straight forward as tyre pressures.

Re: Numptie question

This is where you tell us what you did to sort things out, so we all get to know where the problem was

Re: Numptie question

The problem is probably with the rider! LOL
Only just back from Stoke - all being well will get the beast out tomorrow and will see how well it handles now that tyre pressures are sorted.
Cheers for all your help guys. Much appreciated.

Re: Numptie question

Right - the bike is now handling much better now that the tyre pressures are correct....thanks Neil

I now have another maybe daft question (please excuse my ignorance)
There is a great deal of play on the handlebars...they rock backwards and forwards. Only really noticed it today trying to haul the bike backwards out of the garage at work. Should they do that or should I get them tightened??? I understand that they are rubber mounted???
Thanks

Re: Numptie question

If they are like the RK BB they do move a bit, they are desinged to stop ya finger nails from dropping off due to the vibration.

Seriously though, they should take quite a bit of effort to move them a quarter of an inch. In fact you should'nt notice it whilst riding, if you are pushing it then it would be noticeable. What is 'a great deal' of movement?

Re: Numptie question

you shouldn't notice them moving - check the nuts on the underside of the top yoke

or take it back and tell them you want a bike that is safe to ride not one where you have to do all the maintenance just to make it safe

Re: Numptie question

Tyre pressures also depend on the make and how heavy you are......

Hahahaha - about that much a little bit more - 3.5 stone lighter than I was 2 years ago, but 1.5 stone heavier than I was 20 years ago! LOL
