help concerning part numbers

can anyone help me into veryfying wether these are the correct part numbers for 49mm fork oil seals and dust seals for a dyna superglide fxdc 08 model thanks wud be much appreciated , as wud like to be 100% sure before ordering oil seal 46514-01 one per leg dust seal 46512-01 one per leg

Those are Harley part numbers, for components introduced in model year 2001, hence the -01 suffix.

So if you are ordering Harley parts from a Harley dealer, they can verify the correct part numbers for you, from your VIN and model details, as should an independent. You don't need to tell them the part numbers, as they should be able to tell you! They will also be able to tell you if there is a later better replacement. Phone them!

If you want to be in control, buy the factory parts list, which gives details of every bit on your bike.

thanks for your reply , i fully understand what u mean by the 01 suffix and was hoping someone who does have the parts catalogue would veryfy those numbers for me , what has me puzzeled is that the 49mm forks in question were introduced in 06 ,

49mm forks were introduced in 01 for the vrod model and now used extensivly throughout the dyna range , ps another bit of information concerning mentioned forks , all bolts and bits attched are metric cos forks are japanese made showa allen screws that hold the cups for the front wheel shaft are 5mm allen key to remove not imperial , maybe you guys know but i thought id say

Those part numbers are correct.

Oil Seal: 46514-01

Dust Seal: 46512-01
