If it packs up that the reason i changed in the first place i couldn't find anybody capable of sorting the problems i was having It was costing me , i felt like a guinea pig and paying for the privilege.
The carb set up is now user friendly and runs better!!!

As for your challenge, why do you believe it cannot be done?
Wrong mate, i would be fitting an entirely independent ignition module, all i will be keeping is the charging system

The only reason these things are injected is because Harley had to go that route for emissions, they run cooler and just as efficiently with a carb, if you know what your doing when you set it up.

Anyway, why do you feel the urge to tell me what to do with my bike?
i like to do my own stuff me, been doing it for a long time tha knows.

Take me up on the challenge, i dare ya!
I'll make it easier, show me an injected stock Harley that put out more power than its same engine displacement carburetor predecessor did!

Exactly, these are the same reasons as i want to do this mod to the XR, along with the fact that i want to do some major engine work in the very near future, and be able to tune the bike without relying on a dyno and tuner.
I know where your coming from John

They run smoother, they are more reliable, they run cooler, you dont need a dyno or computer to set them up, and you dont need to go to a dealer (that aint got a clue anyway) to sort em out when they go bad.....Let me know if you need to hear more

You also keep ignoring the fact that its the best thing he ever did

Even EFI aint gonna save these air cooled motors, they dont run well now with heat issues and what have ya, the Harley aircooled V-twin is on its last death throws, i recon another 2-3 years max and there gawn. EU regs are gonna finish em off.

The japs are struggling now to cope with heat issues on liquid cooled motors.

HE thinks it is the best thing he ever did, which is what matters! I haven't ignored anything, just expressed a view.

Goes further afield than the EU. Have you heard of global warming?!

Perhaps we should all give in now? Or just hang onto our Evos!

Re: Fuel Injection to Carbs on a TC96

I think i should explain a little for a start i live in rural north Devon, the nearest dealer is 75mls from me this is a problem when the bike is playing up!
Before i changed to carb i did try in vain to get the injection working properly.
i Even went to wales and went on a rolling road for most of a day, and still it wasnt right this was now costing me a lot of money in fact that alone would have payed for a carb.
so you now no what i was up against, doing the conversion was in my circumstance
the best way to sort the bike out, this has been the case since!!!
i have now covered about 15,000 with the carb and yes i do find it a better ride
it may not be for everyone but out in the sticks a carb seems the better option
we can debate this for ever but if it ant broke dont fix it,
i my case it was broke and i did fix it, and now its easier to fix???
