![]() read this closely and you will see the new 2010 XR1200 does not need a cat in the US, not even in California ![]() Where as it is fitted with one in Europe. http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/onroad/...200_1d4_hn.pdf Also all XR1200's from 2008 are fitted with a cat in Europe but not in the US, again not even in California!

| Re: Fuel Injection to Carbs on a TC96
As part of my tuning up a EFI thread, I asked Matt at Matts about the whole argument for changing from EFI to carbs - his response was "there is no power advantage to be had changing from efi to carb,in fact a well set up efi wil give you slightly more than the equivalent carb set up." Apparently he's the man. So, if its a question of extra performance, looks like working with an EFI may be the most profitable route, I'll continue on my EFI post ![]() Cheers, Roy |

Scotty, as interesting as your link is, it pertains to engine and emission controls, eg those that control fuel vapours escaping from the vehicle's fuel system and how they are dealt with - not the exhaust system. it is a key reason why vehicles don't have carbs any more and harley and their partners have been playing with fuel injection for over 2 decades. fyi - In California, Bikes manufactured for on-road use have been pollution controlled since 1979, as have add on or modified parts. Off road bikes have been pollution controlled since 1997.
