Whirring noise

What is the whirring noise you get after turning the key ? It sounds like a fuel pump, but my bike,a 2001 Low Rider, carb model, surely does'nt have a fuel pump, thought that was just the EFI models.

Re: Whirring noise

I believe this is the Electronic Speedo calibrating itself. Watch the Speedo needle and you will see it move a couple of times then set itself to Zero.
