I am following in Steppenwulf's venerable footsteps, fitting a later swingarm to my older dresser. I have just purchased a 2007 swingarm assembly (complete with wheel spindle, brake calliper and belt guard) from a US dealer, who has converted a solo to a trike. Unfortunately he has already sold the wheels, so I need a suitable rear wheel with 1 inch bearings, preferably with a disc. It seems likely that also will come from the USA. ![]() So my question is, are the rear wheels from other big twins, such as Dynas and Softtails, interchangeable with the touring models? I am trying to widen my choice, in the hope of picking up yet another bargain (swingarm was 50 bucks!). Quite fancy a Street Glide wheel....

| Re: Alternative Rear Wheels
Just done this to my 03 RK. A fatboy rear wheel goes straight in after you've swapped the bearings. Fatboy has 3/4" bearings and a 2002 on Tourer has 1" bearings. They and the spacer tube swap straight over. The fatboy wheel was my choice because it was easy to get, is solid and very easy to clean. I would imagine that any softail rear wheel would go in a tourer like this. Brian

Belated thanks Brian. I have settled on a 2004 nine-spoke touring wheel with 1 inch bearings, complete with disc and pulley, which is winging its way from the USA as I write!
