| Tall rider cramped on wide glide.
I'm 6'6" & ride a 2000 Wideglide. Have extended the forards by 2 inches but still find the ride cramped. Can any tall rider recommend the best way to alter the bike to get extra stretch. New seat etc?? I'm new to harleys & this is my first one. Thankyou very much. |

I am 6 foot 2 and solved mine by extending the forwards to measure, about 3" if memory serves me right. also have a corbin seat with the riders support a bit further back than my old lepera. Both these mods make for a much more comfortable ride.

| Re: Tall rider cramped on wide glide. Hi Greenshed I'm 6'8" with a 38" inside leg and have difficulty with most things (doorways, cars, women etc.) To be honest, very few motorbikes are suited to long fellows such as you and I. The most suitable bikes I have ever found were large capacity trailies such as the Honda Africa Twin and the Buelll Ulysses. Harley make some seats that feature a repositioned seat hump (forward for short legs, back for long legs) and these may be worth looking at. Other leading manufacturers do similar, although there seem to be more products aimed at our shorter brethren. Without having large sums of money to burn, I used the truly excellent Arlen Ness kit to relocate the forwards on my Softail by 3" and it made a noticeable improvement, without actually solving the problem. Okay, so I make the bike look small and it provides amusement to some peeps, but I've just got on with the riding and completed around 60,000 Harley miles. |

I'm about the same size as you mate, and it ain't easy getting comfortable ![]() I fitted Kuryakin extended forwards and lifted the bars with 4.5" risers but could still do with the seat moving back a couple of inches.......... You'll probably find (like most of us) that you 'acquire' a lot of seats, foot controls and bars along the road to your personalised bike but enjoy the experience - it's half the fun

| Re: Tall rider cramped on wide glide. A Tallboy seat helped me out on the RK, but it’s a shedload of cash for a couple of inches, as a bonus it does mean the fuel tank’s empty before my arse is screaming for a break. DYNA TALLBOY® SEAT Stretch your legs in style. The Tallboy® one-piece seat moves the rider back 1.75" and up 2.0" as compared to the Original Equipment seat. The new position allows additional leg and arm movement for the long-limbed rider, and a comfortable seating space for the open road. The Tallboy Seat also features a wide pillion for added passenger comfort.
