Question Superglide Handlebar Riser Question

I have an '07 FXDC with standard bars which I find a little too far away with the Mustang seat I have. I would like to keep the original bars but have them a bit closer to me and a bit taller.

Has anybody with a similar bike fitted 4" pull-backs to theirs?

I am hoping that it's not necessary to change the throttle and clutch cables?

Unfortunately, I will have to alter the brake line though as it is part hose / part metal pipe affair. Any suggestions for braided brake lines for Harleys?

Thanks

Re: Superglide Handlebar Riser Question

I have never used risers, but have you tried simply adjusting the bars in their clamps? It took me several goes to get mine just right (different model admittedly) but they are great now.

As for braided lines they are a common upgrade. Mine are Goodrich, but made up to fit the bike, rather than off the shelf. There are several brands out there and I don't think any of them will disappoint. There is at least one sponsor of HDH who can probably help!

Re: Superglide Handlebar Riser Question

had 4'' pull backs on my super sport, I never had to change brake lines or cables, but you will ( depending on what bars you have ) have to manipulate the brake line from the resevoir.

Re: Superglide Handlebar Riser Question

Thanks Graham, I have tried rotating my standard bars but unfortunately can't get what I'm after - I think my after market seat, whilst very comfortable is a bit further back than stock.

Sorry, having a thick moment, "There is at least one sponsor of HDH who can probably help!", give me a clue.

Re: Superglide Handlebar Riser Question

I think HDH might stand for Harley-Davidson hangout. Take a look at the address bar in your browser.

Cheers
