Screamin' Eagle "Heavy Breather" Performance Air Cleaner Kit

Just got my bike back from the dealers after fitting V&H short shots & Protuner stage 1, huge difference from before and now sounds like it should

My question is can i fit a Screamin' Eagle "Heavy Breather" Performance Air Cleaner Kit as a direct replacement to the existing ?

Cheers, Paul.

Re: Screamin' Eagle "Heavy Breather" Performance Air Cleaner Kit

They should have done that when it was staged, freeing up the air filter is one of the main reasons for fitting a fueler, except that a race tuner is far more advanced than a fueler.

If you fit a performance air filter now, you will have to take it back to the dealer to have the race tuner re calibrated for the changes.

Ask your dealer why they have not fitted a free flowing air filter when they were supposed to be giving you a stage 1. You could also ask why they have fitted an expensive Screaming Eagle Race Tuner, which is meant for heavily modified engines (the clue is in the name, Race Tuner ), when a Power commander would have been more than adequate for a stage 1.

Power Commander & Pro Tuner are meant to do the same thing,`Race` just being in the name.

Both of them are meant to be used from mild to wild.

The Pro Tuner is a far better product.

They have fitted an aircleaner with the protuner, but i was just wondering if i want to change the cleaner to a "heavy breather" type, whether i can do it myself or it has to be retuned ?

the only way to be sure if the fueling is okay is to have your bike dynod this will give you the air fuel mixture at all rev ranges giving piece of mind hope this helps.

are you talking about the forward facing breather, if so they only fit 08 onwards so there must have been a change from earlier models.
