Ok kim, Belt as you said, firstly make sure the belt is on the pulleys square.

Otherwise you could feel one side of it and it be more movement than the other side. Tight-ish = 1/2 an inch up/down movement would be good, however if anyone reading this has a chain then 3/8 of an inch. ;)

Tight-ish = as you can't move it nearly to the bottom and up

that's what I do last week on my 45

Kim, as big BaZa states. between 1/4 - 1/2 inch play up and down.
Did you install a new one, or have you stuck with the one already in there?

Thanks guys, followed Baza's instructions to the work (can i blame you baza when it flys off?). SF, old belt seems to be in good nick so kept that one.

next question. I've fitted external screw on oil filter, it has an 'in' and and 'out'. The pan has a horseshoe oil tank, could some clever person post a diagram or written discription of direction of oil. I assume the lowest oil nipple on the tank is the feed? but what about the two nipples at the top of the tank? Ta Very much MEL (aka Kim) (joke)

new filters and clean oil feeds wether you want it or not. ;)

Make sure you've got your recovery card with you when you take your primary belted bike out that was the only bit that led to me being recovered (twice) when I couldn't botch/mend the shovel on the road side.

Two top nipples.. Where was I, are the oil return & the breather & are interchangeable.
