Shovel cylinder

Just found a crack in the base flange on the rear cylinder on the shovel!
Question... 1) Can they be welded?
.2) Any one got a pair with pistons they want help getting without?

Re: Shovel cylinder

i found a specialist welder to do my 4spd inner primary....through the Yellow Pages

It has to be worth a shot, but no doubt machining etc would then be needed for true-ing.

If it all goes pear-shaped, plenty shovel bits for sale on ebay, and here:

Re: Shovel cylinder

don't weld it or touch anything except genuine or S&S barrels

had the rear cylinder on my shovel let go

it literally totalled the motor and the bike was just idling, god knows what it would have done at normal running speeds
