Saturday afternoon, about 4pm. Tight, even by Ironhead standards!

Why not come along anyway? You should get to us about 7pm at the outside, still in time for the evening party and the ride to Rockingham on Sunday; well worth a tenner!

Good to see that kind of commitment.

see ya there!

Re: SPORTSTER 50th ANNIVERSARY EVENT - JULY 2007: And Flyer.

Hi Everybody.

Just another idea to promote the event.

How about contacting the local TV and radio stations (ITV and BBC).
I don't know what they called (Meridian, BBC East Midlands and BBC
Radio Leicester).
They must have ways of contacting them on the ITV and BBC websites.

Perhaps they could do an outside broadcast of the event for the local news or maybe the ride around
Rockingham (maybe even get the reporter to have ride on the pillion).

What do you think ?

Any promotion of the event whether just in the local papers and bike press plus if possible on TV,
must be good.

Just had a quick look on the BBC Radio Leicester section, and the Breakfast presenter Ben Jackson
has pledged to ride a bike from Leicester to John O' Groats for the Ruby Rainbow Charity, and so is learning
to ride.

So how about inviting him to come to the event, for a photo call of him sitting on (and maybe) riding a Sportster.

What do you think ?

(This is a copy of what I put in the EVO Sportster Section).

Re: SPORTSTER 50th ANNIVERSARY EVENT - JULY 2007: And Flyer.

Lunchtime onwards, Ray. I'll be there Thursday night, and no doubt Ron will be first there as usual; got some guys coming from France though hopefully, so he's missed out on the Long Distance award this year!

Spoke to Gary at the rugby club earlier this week, no problems with waterlogged pitches so you won't need your water wings; mind you it's pissing down here in Carmarthen as I write this, must check with the timber merchants to see if me gopher wood's arrived yet!

Option 1) follow Barrie Reid.

Option 2) Junction 2 off the A14, follow A508 to Market Harborough, you'lll see the Rugby Club on your left as you approach the town, turn at the island marked "Leisure Centre" (sorry no sheep ) I will have signs up.

See you there mate.

Re: SPORTSTER 50th ANNIVERSARY EVENT - JULY 2007: And Flyer.

Hi Kev

Good to talk to you last night briefly. I'm hoping to be there but unfortunately will be in the car due to kids etc.

And no, the 45 isnt finished yet either..... but its well on the way - I think I'm personally building up the pension funds for Jan Willem Boon and 45 Parts Depot.

If I can work out this new fandangled digital internet thing I might post some piccys.
