No not made, all H-D FXRs are alternator models both shovel and evo.

Jamie is right. 1966-1969 Shovels were generator, thereafter alternator.

easily identifiable by the ''slabside'' big engine casing on the right (pipes) side.

1983 FXRS is an oddity in itself, being one of only two years when the then-new FXR series were Shovel-powered.

Thought they didn't make them in that year. Just sold some generator drag pipes to someone and posted them off. Gets e-mail saying they don't fit, hes annoyed. I say they should fit, which model do you have? 83 FXRS shovelhead generator.he replies. Ermm do you have any photos i ask. He sends photo. I can see the problem. It aint a genny shovel.
