greetings, first time here! i have a 1980 iron head sportster and need to replace swinging armbearings. almost everything except the pivot pin is shot. Does anyone know if there is an alternative to all the spacers, threaded nuts, caps etc. that are in the original? |

I'm sure one of the aftermarket suppliers do a complete kit for this job. I would, BTW, be inclined to replace the pivot pin as well; I think the kit does contain one anyway, but check just in case.

Hi All... Why bother??? you'll replace all these bits by very expensive new ones and they'll end up as rusty as the ones you've got within 2 years... Just clean it all, reassemble with plenty of loading and water repellent graphite grease, these bearings do not turn, just oscillate a bit... Patrick |
