solo seat for 1980 XLH

Hi, i've had a 1980 XLH sporty for err.....twenty six years now and have recently inherited some hip problems resulting in the inability to mount the beast.............ohh err missus...;) . I looked at getting a le pera solo a couple of years ago specifically for my model but did'nt get it and now they have stopped doing them. Does anyone know of an aftermarket solo for this model either here or in the U.S. as could get one shipped over if nessacery.
Thanks in advance folks, Cozz.

Re: solo seat for 1980 XLH

alternatively cut down the base of the original seat or make a fibreglass seat base using the bike as a mold, if you put glad wrap over the frame & rear fender cut the glass finre matting to size and carefully apply the fibreglass resin

after it has hardened use a disc grinder to trim & shape this mold

take the new set base to a decent auto trimmer and a picture of what you want and you will have a seat that fits your bike perfectly in the style you want

Re: solo seat for 1980 XLH

Cheers guys, am thinking of making a base as i don't want to destroy the origonal seat. The corbin gunfighter seat looks good but i don't want the bump on the back. It's amazing the stuff you actually can't get for this model. 80-82 not much was made for these. i think only one company do forward controls as well, thanks again, cozz.;)
