Re: Festival of 1000 bikes, 14th and 15th of July

From the Vintage Motor Cycle Club's website;

With the public track sessions now sold out for both Saturday & Sunday the Festival of 1000 Bikes promises to be one of the best attended events of the year.

Interest in this years event has been phenomenal because of the excitement created by what is arguably the best line up of star riders and machines to be assembled anywhere in Europe this year!

The VMCC is delighted to confirm that British Champion & JPS Norton Rotary works rider Trevor Nation will be joining Norton Champions Steve Spray and Ian Simpson in the largest gathering of works Norton rotary racers seen for many years. With the public track debut of the amazing new Norton NRV588 race machine and the first UK track appearance of the Laverda V6 from Italy this is a unique event with unique machines brought to you by a unique Club.

VMCC CEO James Hewing stated “despite having significantly more track sessions for both road & race machines over both days of the event these are completely sold out with more than 1100 machines entered. Just look at the amount of Star riders and unique machines that will be taking to the track on Sunday 15th July. Its no idle boast about our star line up, most big events of this type have a handful of “big” names, at the VMCC Festival of 1000 Bikes 2007 we have well over a dozen!

There is so much to see at this diverse extravaganza of motorcycling with just some of the other attractions/start times confirmed-

Entertainment Marquee (Friday 13th and Saturday 15th July)

Riders & Spectators are encouraged to make a “weekend of it” with the VMCC entertainment marquee and bar (situated in the race paddock overlooking Stebbe Straight) opening from Friday night onwards.

Well known Rock N Rollers “The Flames” will be live on stage playing two sets.

7.00 pm Stars on Stage

Some of the Stars taking part in Sundays “Past Masters” Track Display will be interviewed on stage.

A fantastic pre 65 trial has been organised by the VMCC Taverners Section for both days of the event which run over multiple sections on the off road courses within Mallory Park.

The historic Grass Track will be run during Sunday on an exciting grass course opposite Stebbe straight.

Continues-
