Re: Hot Tip!

Clean surfaces with petrol/solvent....When dry bound the bars with double sided tape and remove the outer coating to reveal the sticky outside... (you don't need to put too much on!)

Drop a splash of petrol/solvent into the grip blocking holes in either end....and slush around shake out excess and slide on handlebar that you have just wet with solvent/petrol as well,.............Position and when dry they WILL NOT MOVE.

Petrol based glue melts for affixing but dries solid in place.

Leave 10 hours or overnight for best results.

Re: Hot Tip!

Ordinary hairspray-
spray the bar and the inside of the grip and allow it to go off slightly and then slide 'em on. Grips really well, had to use the above method in Portugal in May last year and the grip is still stuck solid.

Oh and the bonus is that when you want to remove you don't have to cut the grip off.

Re: Hot Tip!

Hi

Ive always used washing up liquid. Smear it on the bar end straight from the bottle and slide the grips on and position them as you like. Sets like a rock in about an hour.

Doesnt loosen with rain but if you want to take them off them prise up the egde and squirt some water underneath this will soften it again after a while.

Re: Hot Tip!

Over the last 30 years I have used hairspray and NEVER had a prob. Washing up liquid can rot the rubber and the high salt contnent in it will attack your bars.

Double sided tape? Are you having a laugh? Why not nail the grips on?

.....Because it would look ugly but it's as good as.

That's the way they regrip rubber grips professionally to golf clubs and also how I did it when I changed my bars.

Not having a larf but can assure you it works well. Hairspray...great
