Re: 45" parts depot

i have to say that last year i tried to place an order for a 45 breather tube from parts depot, as a tester, as i had a lot to buy, and am dubious of anyone offering nos parts cheap,
TWO MONTHS later i was still waiting !!!
No replys to any of about 8-10 emails on the order, or how to and when to pay, only word i got from them was when i finaly canceled the order (and got the part from Fred Warr at a price lower than depot was advertising to boot)
I put them on my list of ''dont deal with this chancer or i'll get burned''
in my book,if you offer a service there should be no excuses when you cant fullfill a deal, and if i have gone out of my way to place an order they should have the manners to answer a damn email (or eight),it aint hard

Re: 45" parts depot

Hi
Yeah i am pretty sure they have moved their operations back to the states so watch out for the shipping and customs charges. Boons is a pretty good bet.
Cheers
Roger

Re: 45" parts depot

to add to my previous note above,
on saturday i bought a 45 trans top cover on ebay,it is brand new and never fitted to the sellers bike,he said it was bought by ''mistake'' and that was why he was selling it, i got it for only £10.00 so i'm happy,
it arrived on tuesday and looks great, the chrome is good and it does look like the std in every way but one, IT DON'T F<KIN FIT,the shape is correct,it doesn't hit anything it shouldn't,but not one of the screw holes lined up with the holes in the trans, now in my book as the transmision was made by Harley Davidson in 1941 and rebuilt by Fred Warr himself last year im prity sure that the holes are in the right place on the trans, that would indicate that the piece of shit sold by 45 PARTS DEPOT was made incorrectly in china, now i'm no moron so i used a numberd drill and slightly enlarged all the holes so that it would fit,it is on and looks good but it shouldn't be sold if it is not fit for the job it is ment to do,i will use it untill i get the std HD cover chromed but its no wonder that the ebay seller sold it to me (bought by ''mistake'' my ass, it didn't fit!!),if this is the quality of things sold by 45 PARTS DEPOT i for sure will never buy any thing they have had anything to do with again,i'm just glad i paid sod all for it.
