| 45" parts depot Hi. I am about to order some parts from the 45" parts depot in Holland and have to pay 19% vat to Holland, this is not a problem so long as i do not have to pay more vat and duty when i have them delivered to me in the U.K. Has anybody had any experience of paying the vat in another european country as opposed to paying it in the U.K. Ta |

| Re: 45" parts depot There is no duty on goods between EU countries. Once you pay VAT at source, that's it. Check the details on the site as some items are actualy made and/or despatched from the US.Kurt has opened a distribution place there as costs from Holland to US made things expensive for his customers there moving parts US-Holland-US and picking up two lots of duty and exchange rates. I would think on parts shiped from US you would not be invoiced for VAT but would be liable for duty and VAT as per anything from the US. I'll PM Karl a link to this as he had some rims that I think came from the US as part of his order. You can always email Kurt at the Depot,he's one of the good guys and will always look after you. |

| Re: 45" parts depot Dave's right - anything between EU countries is "duty paid" so wont cost you any more. Its the non EU stuff you've got to watch out for as you can get hammered on the way in for UK VAT, import duty and a Royal Mail handling charge. I think Kurt ships his European customers parts out of Holland so you shouldn't have a problem. Some items I have ordered from 45 Parts Depot (mostly Colony stuff I think) have come from the US originally but this has been via a transfer of stock between the European and US 45 Parts Depot companies. | Re: 45" parts depot Hi Pete; regarding a 6v battery, I got one a couple of years ago from an Enfield India dealer for about £35; if you have a black battery case you can 'gut' it and fit dry cell batteries, kits can be found in the likes of 'Classic Bike' etc or check out 'Manbat'(should have called themselves 'Batman' - I do). ![]() Cheers, Pete.

| Re: 45" parts depot Hi Pete Its 45 Parts Depot If you were a member of HDRCGB they'd give you 5% discount on orders over 300 Euros and (I think) 10% on orders over 800 Euros ![]() |

| Re: 45" parts depot Has anyone experienced any problems ordering with 45" Parts Depot? I placed an order for various items on the 16th July and everytime I log into the site and check my order status it shows as 'pending' with some items complete and others on back order. I have tried without success to email them and ask when I can expect the order to be completed. The phone number for Europe is an answering machine so I'm stuck waiting for a reply to my emails.

| Re: 45" parts depot Hi Graham Ive only got a few small items on back order and haven't put an order in for a month or so. I don't think they can get parts fast enough from their suppliers at the moment. You could try Wendy's email - Wendy@45partsdepot.com - I think she deals with all the orders remotely from Ohio. | Re: 45" parts depot I've always found that orders from 45 Depot turn up in the end. It's worth asking if the order is part-available, if so Kurt and Wendy will divide it and send what they have if thats helpful. some things just take a while to come back in stock. Old bikes are like that sometimes. |
