Re: Mallory park festival of a thousand bikes 2009

Providing I'm composmentis after the friday sesh...I'll have a wobble round,
or if I don't the War Office will.

On a serious note.....Dont forget bikes going on the track are scrutineered before your allowed on.... its nothing to heavy.. just dont expect to turn up with a "barn find" and go out for some knee down action...
Same applies to yer riding gear , acu stamped helmet , boots ,leather or kevlarjeans an jacket.....yer bermuda shorts an flip flops will not suffice..

Re: Mallory park festival of a thousand bikes 2009

Ill be at Mallory this Friday the 27th to meet with the VMCC to see where our camping is going to be and Marquee. Any questions or requests now is the time to ask.

Ill be meeting Sam Brown from the VMCC at 11 O'clock in the main carpark.Any one else wants to come along feel free.

I only have about six people wanting to do the track session, I hope this goes up a little or we will have to pull out of it.

Dave

Re: Mallory park festival of a thousand bikes 2009

Hi Dave.

How much is this track session going to cost? and i ain't got an ACU helmet,so my trip around the track is looking doubtfull

But if all goes well and i don't fall off on the way ,i'll be there early Fri afternoon to help set up .

Last year the Moto Guzzi Club had a bloody great area coned off for their camping, maybe worth asking for an area for our Club.

The club are going to be making a contribution towards the track session, not siure how much just yet, but at the worst it will cost £30. Weve got our own camping area which is closer to the track with lighting and toilets.

Re: Mallory park festival of a thousand bikes 2009

Hi Dave..just to confirm again i should be able to make the weekend and would like to take my Sportster round the track..obviously it would be nice if the club made a contribution but i think the £30 covers the whole weekend event which includes bands on the nights, camping ect...sounds reasonable to me. Will have to get myself some second hand leather trousers as they won't allow jeans on the track..almost got some off ebay for £10 but then realised that i didnt want to buy from someone called Thunderpants..lol!!! Be good to know if i'll be allowed to take a 2003 bike around the track..if not then does someone want to lend me there old Ironhead..lol!!

With a username like that I was rather hoping you'd got one!

No probs at all; the VMCC have a very sensible view about modern Harleys, acknowledging the fact that they've been in continuous production for over 100 years. We were actually asked when I first did Mallory, to provide a spread of older and modern bikes to illustrate this.

Re the leathers, people have got on the track with kevlar lines jeans and gortex trousers in the past - however I would check before you turn up

Bike inspection is none to rigourous, ditto helmets, as long as the helmet has some sort of safety marking
