Greg The Linkerts sold as accesory carbs by Harley dealers normaly had 3 numbers after the letter and were sold as replacements for Indians and pre 1933 Schlieber carbs on Harleys. Steve I've been looking for my Linkert book which of course I can't find. ![]() The M54 seems to have had the same part number as the M88. The M88 = 15/16" venturi The M54 = 1" venturi. Was the M54 non vented aswell? |

Yo Dave,M54 original H-D part no ...27122-37,M54B 1133-41M,M88...1133-41M.So yeah I guess your halfway right!Dead right on venturi size. Also the M54B had both fixed jets and high speed needles.Military fixtures. The M-88 main nozzles are internally vented,it also states that most other Linkerts are externally vented. QUOTE"the M-54B is a modified M-54.The body's external vent hole is plugged with a brass plug (the M-88 and M-90 bodies were never drilled for vent holes)The main nozzle is internally vented by a slot cut into the 1" venturi. The M-54B main nozzle has a small hole at the venturi slot level, the nozzle must be turned so this hole is visible through the venturi's vent slot.It has a special forked spacer to help keep the main nozzle in position and a s hort main nozzle spring. It uses the XA type float bowl gasket. P.S. The books brill, but can be hard going!. Steve. |
